1. How long is the blade on the Mini Micro Bowie? Only the cutting edge (straight line, from tip to cho) .
2. Do Goptes come in sub-15" size?

Thanks.

My Mini is 3 3/4'' from the front of the cho to the point.

I can't speak for Goptes but if I had to guess I'd say yeah probably. But again just a guess, I got nothing to back that up with.

Thanks for giving me an excuse to pull the Bowie, dang if she ain't looking fine! Very very fine! And do she feel fine in the hand too. like my hand was growed around that handle. Hmm hmmm good!

Just to make sure...it's a Mini Micro, from the pictures I saw...right? :) (Confusing; just to make sure we're on the same page!)

Thank you!

All the minis are basically very close to the same. The first generation and my favorite were about 7 1/2" overall length with about a 3 3/4 blade. The second generation still had about the same length blade but had a inch longer handle so they are around 8 1/2" over all or sometimes a tad more.
All the one's auntie has left and they are getting few are the longer second generation. Nice for the larger handed folks.

I've often wondered if they would consider the blade at the cho and back part of the blade if anyone was concerned about the law like folks in Seattle.

I always figured if they wasn't talking to me about something else far worse they wouldn't be talking to me about a blade a half inch too long etc.

Speaking of MMB's, I just realised that there's maybe a 1/4" section near the tip that doesn't have an edge, it's quite literally flat, not a major issue but what's the recommended route that isn't a file. Don't want to un-perty the finish.

I've heard it claimed that it's supposed to be from the start of the sharpened portion, but given that all too often the law doesn't enter into arrests and prosecution I wouldn't count on it.

The answer probably depends on what state someone is in, what city, which arresting officer and judge, plus other factors like whether the knife carrier puts people in fear of their lives. Some people fear for their lives every time they walk out the door.

I believe double-edged knives are treated more harshly because it makes the knife more weapon-like and less tool-like.

Gopte's are great knives, very fast and light. I think mine is 16.5" and 18 oz.

Yes, saw your review. Looks like what I am after...just wrote Yangdu a day before you reviewed yours, you just confirmed that it might be a good choice for an everyday / something hits the fan situation. I would favor it over a Sirupati because of the weight.

For easy carrying, though, I'd prefer one under 15", 15" tops. I have a bag, I've been concealed carrying even my 15" M43, but that's 29 oz of steel, a little bit heavy for using it in large arcs, excellent for chopping though.

Yeah, I open carried my Dui Chirra today. Suffice to say I got some funny looks, and a thumbs up from an LEO.

I see I'm not the only person who carries a khuk daily:D

I have my M-43 on my hip as i sit at my desk and type this. Sometimes it's handy:)

This weekend I'll probably switch to my micro bowie in a back pocket sheath.
