So, I hate everything banging around in my pockets. I also don't want to wear tactical 800-pocket pants. Being inspired by some of the other homemade pocket sheaths I have seen here, I decided to try.
Getting started

Almost halfway

Done

Even added a lighter slip

Won't win any awards, but it works. If I really like it, then I may have a pro do one. Or I might get better. All
I know is that I have my stuff in my pocket, and it is not a jumbled banging mess. Which was the point.

Great first effort. If it fits in your pocket and you like the way various pieces ride in the sheath ... checkpoint met! Carry this one around for awhile and start thinking about how to tweak the design. My only concern is whether the leather you used is vegetable or chrome tanned? Chrome tanned leathers (e.g. upholstery leather) do react poorly with many metals and will cause corrosion. My first pocket sheath was made from a piece of chrome tanned leather from a scrap leather pack purchased from a large craft store chain. The nickel silver bolsters on my GEC Toothpick turned a "funky" yellow color - fortunately I was able to gently buff it out. I replicated the design in veg tan leather ... no more worries.

If you've never looked at the Sheaths & Such sub-forum - check it out. A tremendous resource for helpful tips and inspiration.

Very cool! I like this one a lot. Your design seems well thought out, and your execution is great for your first try. Nice work!

I've been looking to do much the same thing soon, very inspiring. I actually like the fact that it's ragged (*not* meant in a derogatory sense at all) and unpolished. For me it hearkens back to an older era in a sense, something missing today. Makes me think of older eras when people made things on their own at home simply because they needed something to fulfill a specific purpose. Making something artful is great, improving your craftsmanship ability and so forth, but ultimately things just need to serve their purpose. This looks like it will do such. I need to buy some leather and get too it.

Nice first effort, mine looked way worse and had severe design flaws ;)

But now I fell in love with sheats. Soon you'll have the urge to make them for everything too :)

That´s a cool looking handmade combo-sheath. A very good result for the first try. I haven´t made such a beautiful one for the first try.

I think you really have skill and should work on more on these sheaths... go on :D

Looks good. I can't stand stuff clanging around in my pockets, but as the weather has warmed up, I'm wearing Cargo shorts with plenty of space. Pocket sheaths are grand.

I have to remove the Leatherman tool to get it out. So, yeah it's secure. Toying with the idea of a new sheath
, but with a flashlight holder instead of the zippo. We'll see.
