Hi Guys....

I scratched the heck out of my 730 Ares..

So I had a knifemaker friend of mine bead blast the blade...

Then we decided to drill some holes in the scales, bead blade the liners and also the clip...

I think the knife looks Really nice like this,, and is Really easy to do...

Just got to be careful with it...

Turned out Pretty Good Eh ?!
Picture Blows though...
Can't get decent pics of my scanner...

Why?! Sorry, I guess you're allowed to have your own opinion, but I really don't like that. Bead-blast is prone to rust (so even if you want the blade to have that look, mirror-polishing the liners would be a better choice), and I really don't like those holes. But, if you like it that way, that's really all that matters.

P.S., the Nimravus sheath is holding up like a charm. It started out a little tight, but wore slightly and is now as near perfect as I could ask for.

I think it looks kinda cool. You'll probably never sell it, but you will always have an Ares like no other, and everyone will want to have a look at it at least once. WHich is more than I can say for my plain 910.

Well, the holes probably do improve the balance of the knife, but the work on the blade and liners is purely cosmetic. Either way, it's an Ares like no other and if I saw you using it I'd ask to see it!

You could put nacho cheese sauce on it...

WOW! I think that looks Tony-the-Tiger Grreeaat! And it must improve the balance tremendously. I would buy it if you ever got tired of it! (since I don't have a knifemaker friend to do the same for me . . .or my own drill press) FF

Looks pretty cool, but I would be more interested in how you got the Ares into Canada. I was counting the days until S&R knives was supposed to be getting a shipment, but when I called the knives had been stopped at the border by Customs. Too easy to flick open or some such nonsense...

That is WAY cool!!! I've been trying to find someone to put blue G-10 handles on one.Your improvement's with blue G-10 on mine would be smokin'.
