How Light can you make the Chitlanis? 1oz per inch? I'm thinking about getting a 21" one.

Abear the below is what I posted when I got my 21"+ Chitlangi along with a link to the original thread. It's one of the few I brought with me to Pennsylvania.:)
One pound 9 ounces works out to 25 ounces and I canguarantee you that it doesn't feel that heavy at all. I think the rest of the guys with 21"+ Chit's will concur.:)

Oh WOW!!!! This one is really, really Sssuuhhwwweeeeetttttt!!!!!!!
I put in on my new postal scales and it comes in at 1 Lb 9 Oz!!!!
And it feels like a feather in the hand!!!
And if held just right it is a balance khukuri!!!! With the POB about 3" in front of the habaki bolster. It sure doesn't feel that far when you're holding it correctly though!!!!

Roger - Looks like you made a good grab today also!

Abear - The 21" Chitlangi balances better than any other khuk I've handled. Yvsa's description says it all.

PS - I emailed you yesterday re: a 25" Sirupati, but the mail got bounced back at me.

Edited for clarity.

How does the feel of a 21" chitlangi compare to a 21" sirupati?

I can't speak for the Sirupati, but compared to a 21" GS of identical weight, the balance point of the Chitlangi is about two inches closer to the bolster. The blade feels lighter and handles faster. The Chit wants to dance, the GS wants to chop.

Yeah, the 21" GS I have is actually lighter than my 18" AK, which I consider to be the real chopper. I think of the GS more as a slasher than a chopper, but then again I don't own any of the feather-weight sirus or kobras. GS does have the balance point way out there, when compared to the AK. I think withought the forward balance point, there would be no real power in the blade. In blades under 30", I prefer the forward or 'point-heavy' feel.
