So I got a wild hair this morning and dragged my wife (for the pics) and dogs out of the house for a few minutes. I decided to make some eggs and fried Treet (I'm not high-faluting enough for Spam :barf:)

A shot of the nice patina that developed on my CBK

Stripping some easy starting yellow poplar bark to start a small fire

Quick and easy feather sticks

I made a little red rooibos tea while building a small bed of coals

The Treet is skinned and prepped for frying (it died a quick/clean death:p)

In the pan, frying

The eggs

Finished products (with a sexy knife in the foreground)

Since my wife stole my titanium spork, I used the wide blade of the CBK as a passable eating utensil (just try not to slice your lips if you do this:D)

Hopefully, I'll be able to get out for a longer period of time this year. It has been far too long since I was able to enjoy nature:mad:. This made for a pleasant start for today, I hope everybody else is enjoying their weekend:)

It looks like it was a beautiful day out there. Love the CBK. That design is just SOOOOOOOO useful.

Thanks for taking us along with the photos. Any time spent out no matter how short is a good time.

Most of it looks good but lost interest when you made the red rooibos tea
That stuff is like old time medicine YUK

I am happy to see some sun in the great state of West Virginia!

I rode my motorcycle back from the middle of Wisconsin to the middle of Illinois, most of it in cold drizzle -

My mother was from Wheeling, so I am part West Virginia through and through -

Very nice feather stick, and Treet is just fine by me over spam, I don't think armour is a step down from spam at all.

Thanks for the pictures and I am happy to see you enjoying your JK on your well deserved holiday weekend.

Thanks again!!

best

Great post,thanks for the pics.
It's always good to get outdoors for whatever reason & breakfast is the most important meal they say..........................................

Good Stuuf! Sometimes those quick trips out are the best. No planning and minimal packing.
