Outstanding!!!
I'm up and running with my reversible disc sander. Now I wanna try to rig up a quick or reasonably quick change disc system and thought I'd ask you bastids if you have any ideas and bounce my idea off ya before I waste any money on it!
I was thinking about using two index pins to keep the discs lined up and two 1/4" flat head machine bolts to hold the discs on. I realize this would create two small holes in the sand paper but looking at the disc today I figured I could keep the holes about 3" from the outer edge of the disc. Every disc sander I ever used got 99% of it's use on the outside 2 or 3" so I don't think the holes would be a problem.
Another idea I had was to use rare earth magnets but then you'd have to deal with crud build up plus the magnets attracting the item you were sanding.
Whatcha think peoples?
