Yes it's overbuilt, yes it's heavy, and Yes I am loving the D2!! Very even grind and Im loving it. My comment is that it is clear that Sibert has the insight to build a knife that is non-abrasive to your hand when reaching for something else in your knife pocket. Smooth edges and it's nice to reach in and not get a scrape for your troubles. Before anyone thinks that the knife is "slick", you can get plenty of purchase on the knife due to the handle shape. I got the tan g10 scales plain blade, and I cant keep playin with it. A couple of hours after the purchase, I found myself at my youngest son's preschool orientation, and it took some serious willpower not to whip out this bad boy and flick it about a hundred times....
If anyone has any reservations about the knife, I would say be aware that it is blocky and heavy, and it's not perfect ( whatever that means ), and it's not a knife for the castrated male out there, but if you like the heavy duty's out there, this one is to be considered.
