once the fire was going it was time to make lunch,, I mised some water into the bannock mix I prepped at home, and spreadit out on a flat rock.. While that cooked I put up some pine needle tea

add a little soup to that and its a lunch fit for a king

unfortunately I couldn;t find any decent sparking rocks where I was, so I tested it with a ferro.. (worked great) I'll try it with real flint now that I;m home next chance I get.
all in all not a bad way to spend a Weds.

almost forgot the obligatory blade shot.

Good stuff Riley, I bet you coulda used the outer edges of that Bannock as char cloth eh !:D

Looks like a good time. Thanks for the photos. Really looking forward to getting out myself.

very nice, man. perfect day to be out there today.

Good stuff John. Harriman?

he's looking for his missing spork and cup handles i bet. with all the knives, axe, and fire, if that's all the mishap that happened on our overnighter, it's obvious i need to bring far more booze next time :p

Great post John, looks like you had fun. I see spring still hasn't reached your area yet. I thinks it's good to practice with a Mora...if you can make it with one of those you can make it with pretty much anything :)
