I've wanted a Khukuri since a friend of mine had one in High School, which was in the late 1950s. So I've put it off for a long time. I recently scored a DOD on a Klvuk which was delivered within 48 hours of Yangdu receiving my payment information.

I spent a couple of hours polishing the brass, evening the handle/bolster junction, and honing the blade. It's a great knife at a great price, great people to deal with although I expect most of you on this forum already knew that.

Only problem, I've already ordered an Ang Khola! Who knew these great knives would be addictive? I know, everyone on the forum except me.

Thanks to Yangdu for making all this happen.

Sounds like you just catched HIKV.

Start to make room for more ;-)

Glad you've got the bug! I love my KLVUK, it's done everything I've asked of it and more. Im glad you like yours, and some pictures best be inbound!

Congratulations! And my deepest sympathies.

For your wallet will eternally be empty eloping to provide for some of the best people out there in customer service, supporting incredible artists in steel and skin, and in taking a step away from the west's culture of planned obsolescence.

Also, which was your first Khuk!?

Congrats and I emphasise with you! I caught the bug real bad last Christmas and 6 months later more than 4000 aud poorer still have not recovered!
I too have always wanted my own Khukri since using my friends knife while camping in my school days in the 70s and 80s.

I am richer now by close to 40 beauties that make me smile and make me forget the days worries when I come home from work!

You have been warned!

13 years, and I still ain't scratched the itch;) welcome to the fold:)

Welcome and HIKV is one disease only your wallet will hate, but you'll love.

Really great to see that another poor sod has contracted the dreaded HIKV disease besides me. But fear not. It only gets WORSE!!...and I do love the company.

Welcome to the HI and blade forum, Coyte3855

40 in such short time and no pics of your collection?

Ban him I say.

Sorry Moown, tried to post a picture once and couldn't make it work.
Do I need to change my subscription type?
I think it's more like 30 something rather than 40 - loosing count! Got a few non- HI ones as well.

I've got 9 of them stuck up in shipping as my address was put in wrong by mistake while shipping and they are somewhere in the middle of the pacific after being sent back by ship mail by AusPost - not a very nice experience! Praying they don't rust by the time they get back to Yangdu.

Welcome and condolences for your contraction of HIKV. One of the prime symptoms is a pronounced hole in your wallet that forms every time a new DOTD is posted. Fortunately HIKV is mostly benign and rarely fatal, except sometimes due to complications caused by AWS (Angry Wife Syndrome). This can be medicated with a prescription of shoes and handbags, though.
