I managed to get out for a bit of toolin' around out in the boonies today. Nothing special, just following random dirt roads off of the 'Behind the Rocks' area south of town. I sure wish I could do the drama of the landscapes around here justice. If you want to see the area as it should be seen, google "Tom Till", I could happily live in any of his photos-here or elsewhere.

My pics are just to prove I made it out of city limits:o

I just kind of liked this view.

The cacus are in full bloom! There's plenty of color in the desert, you just have to know where to look.

My essential outdoors equipment:D

The view at the end of the road, overlooking Kane Creek. There's a trail at the bottom, but it's a bit much for my stock Ranger. I've done about half of it, and I'm going to try coming from the other end sometime this summer.

Jenga of the Gods? There are some really cool rock formations in the area, and sometimes you just walk right into 'em:D

Hopefully I'll get more shots next time, we were a little short on time today. It's summertime, though, so I should get plenty of play time in:thumbup:

I don't know what you're talking about those pics came out great IMO. Moab is one of those places I'd like to visit some day.

great pics Walter... Utah is such a gorgeous state... i haven't been there in along time...:o did a lot of mtn. biking and climbing out there back in the day...

Thanks guys. I usually try to get out a couple of times a month, but I don't usually get more than one or two decent pics. Hopefully that'll change this summer, both in quantity and quality:thumbup:

Wow, looks pretty awesome there. For some reason the desert seems like a place I would want to go just to go there. Not sure why, just a weird feeling.
