I have three knives within easy reach most of the time: Frost Mora 4" utility, Spyderco Native (serrated), and USAF Pilot Survival.

Just out of curiosity which one should I reach for if I needed it in self-defense (say I heard someone breaking into the house and have already dialed 911).

My first response was the USAF Pilot Survival, but the Native would do more in a 'slashing', while the Mora would make a better 'thruster'. Comments?

I'd sic my wife on their ass.:D.

Actually, I'd shoot 'em with my 10mm Glock, slice & stab 'em with my Ontario/Bagwell Hell's Belle, THEN I'd sic my wife on em.:D.

Use the USAF Pilot knife.
After all, it's a fixed blade and it should get the job done--and you will not be too sad, or out a lot of money, when it ends up in the evidence room.

As for me...
If someone was breaking into my home, I reach for my .357 or my 12ga shotgun BEFORE dialing 911!

Good luck,
Allen.

If I were you, I would go with the USAF Pilot Survival.

But, since I'm not you, I'd reach for my trusty .45 or 12 ga. shotgun. :D

Duuno about you, but I have a wakazachi(don't care 'bout spelling, I know it's wrong) by my bed... tree sharp...
makes one hell of a pruner when the neighbours tree gets over grown and into our yard.

of the 3 choices you have at hand, I'd grab the native and USAF... Native left/reverse/edge out, USAF right/forward/edge out.

Grab the One that Feel's the Best and Go to Work !! Personally I Would grab the Biggest Sharpest One !! Or one of the Gun's , Big Knife equal big nasty Cut's Think Sushi !! then Call the Cop's let them have the Knife and Call a Lawyer !!:footinmou ;)
