I have been having great success running one blade at a time in my evenheat oven. But..... not overly efficient. so I have a few questions.
1. can the blade be in the oven while the oven is coming up to temp? and then once at temp start counting time??? Or let the oven come up to temp toss in blade and let come back up then start counting time?
2. if I want to do 2 or 3 at once ( 80CRV2) get them up to temp and then quench in parks 50 then drop in my plate quenching setup to try to mitigate warps for a few min. But while this is happening on blade 1 blades 2 and 3 are still soaking. Is that a NO NO to over soak blade ,and just stick with what's been working for me doing one at a time??
Thanks Jerry

Put the blade in after the oven has come up to temp and stabilized a bit, start your time after it has come back up to temp.

Not sure on the second question, but my instinct says 2 or 3 is fine. If you move quickly when taking your blade out and closing the oven, you're not gonna lose much temp, so getting back up to temp won't take but a min or two.
I don't think the extra couple mins at temp are going to hurt anything.

Blades in oven once it is up to temperature, wait for it to rebound and then start timing soak.

As long as your temps are not high for your steel a little longer soak should not be an issue but you still need to move the blades through the process in a timely manner.

If you want to run more blades and want to do an interrupted plate quench then maybe think about getting more plates.

As said, let the oven come up to temperature and stabilize for a while then put the blade(s) in and let it return to temperature. Start the countdown when it is back to the target temp.

Multiple blades are fine. Just let the oven come back to temperature before pulling the next blade.

Thank you Stacy
And a batch of these will be some of the CPM 154 / ATS 34 I got from you. Little diff temp process but I still want to do a batch. Thanks for all your help.
