I got out today to a local park for a quick hike and some geo-caching. The temperature been up and down here and thing haven’t started to really green up yet.

I thought I knew where I was heading to find the first geo-cach I had logged in my GPS, after a little while I realized I may have been off a bit:D

I figured what the hell; I’ll just try the other one in my log. No luck, it too was on the opposite side of the lake somewhere under the green tree tops in the center of the pic.

So, not wanting to turn this into an all day hike I abandoned the geocaching and jump off the beaten path to follow some deer trails. The grounds been soft thanks to all the rain we’ve been getting; it made for some easy tracking:thumbup:

Ended up jumping a half-dozen deer after following one of their trails, wish I could hunt here.

Heading back to the trail I came across someone’s makeshift shelter/fort. Looked like something kids had put together; the opening into it was pretty small for an adult.

All in all, it was a good day out even with the geo-caching fail; think I’ll start on the other side of the lake next time around.

I need to get a real camera at some point, the cell phone pics just aren’t up to snuff.

Neat! Yep, I've gotten into trouble on as the crow flies directionality when in the middle of meandering channels!

I am thrilled you got to go out for the day, even if it is not the prettiest time of
year for you up there, it is still better than nothing.

Looks like you have an awesome stack of firewood for your next outing. :D
