Good morning. I've been lurking since last September, first time posting.

It all started with me finding my Dad's boys/camp axe from the late 60's. Needless to say I am fully addicted.

This past weekend I picked up a Kelly Falls City single bit. From my searches and the markings it looks like the age range is roughly 1930 - 1949. However, I've not seen this exact marking:

Kelly Axe&Tool Works

Any additional info that might help narrow down the year would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, still trying to figure out how to insert pictures.

Hello welcome to the BF!

Go to http://www.imgur.com and upload your image. After uploading, select the BBCode option - it starts with [ IMG ] Copy. Paste.

Or (this is what I do) if you get paid subscription you can Email yourself the photo and just copy and paste it on here.

Postimage.org is another easy and free site to use.
Just upload, copy the direct link, click the image/portrait icon as you type your post here, click the link icon, paste the link in the box.

Easy peasy

Looks to be a pre-1930 axe by the stamping. It became Kelly Works instead of Tool after that year I do believe. Not 100%.

In 1930 Kelly Axe and Tool Company was bought by The American Fork and Hoe Company (A F & H Co).

"Prior to July 28, 1930, petitioner [A F & H Co] was engaged in the business of manufacturing forks, hoes and other miscellaneous articles, but did not manufacture axes or shovels. Kelly Axe and Tool Company. . . was, prior to the last mentioned date, a West Virginia corporation engaged in the business of manufacturing axes . . . "

The OP's axe is stamped: Kelly Axe & Tool Works.
