We made it out for a few hours Sunday afternoon and managed to pick up a mess of small channel cats. It had rained a bit and was cloudy when we got to the camp, but cleared up nicely once we were out on the water. I was pissed to find that a gator had gotten a hold of one of the crawfish baskets we have been keeping baited. He totally destroyed it. Here are a few pics I thought I'd share.
This guy watched us the whole time we fished this spot:
I'm pretty lucky, the wife is happier in the outdoors than most chicks are shopping:
The wife is not as lucky:
I don't know if someone could paint a picture as pretty as when the sun starts to settle behind the cypress and tupelo:
By the time the sun was gone, we made it back to camp with a couple dozen little channel cats, and one bream. I love these little catfish. I fillet the larger ones for the wife, but I like the smaller ones fried whole:
Back at the camp, we grilled hotdogs and had left over 4th of July potato salad, and then headed for home. Great summer Sunday afternoon, if you ask me.
