The new small version is out! Made a quick cheesy video on the new RAT 2 folder. The video isn't great. Im sure I missed lots of details, but at least you guys could be able to compare it to the original model 1 folding knife:

thanks for the comparison video, I just ordered a Rat 2 today. Gonna have some custom handle scales made for it.

Thanks for the vid and measurements.

Odd that the manufacturer didn't supply dealers with weight and blade length, only that the Rat 2 is about 20 percent smaller than Rat 1.

In hand, it feels even smaller than that in comparison -- the 2 is a much better fit for pocket EDCing.

My original Rat was disappointing in that the lock was sticky and has stayed that way.

My Rat 2 has no sticky issues.

As for the liner lock, it's thinner than that of a Skyline, for example, but feels adequate.

To me, 2 feels much better in my hand than the original. YMV, depending upon hand size.

It's a well-designed, modestly priced folder that could become even more popular than the original.

Instead of satin I would like to see a stonewashed version. And the $119 list price is a bit of a joke.

Nice review, mate. I've been tempted to order both a RAT 1 and a RAT 2 for a while now, seeing them in hand and side by side really helped.

Not really sure he literally meant people should throw their RAT 1. I think if you read that thread carefully, Jeff "might" have been jokingly encouraging people to throw and baton their RAT 1's, because it would be Ontario's problem to fix them. :)
