Hello All,

I am looking for an Emerson-style quick pocket assist for my Cold Steel Recon 1 Series Tactical Folding Knife with Tri-Ad Lock and Pocket Clip. I found cheap knock-off ones on eBay. Does anyone have any other recommendations?

TIA

Don’t use those eBay ones. They don’t fit well. SnaggletoothMF all the way.

I have had hit-and-miss with the cheap eBay Chinese knock offs.

The SnaggleTooth is more expensive, but I may just get them for a few I have that need the quick assist thumb screws. I was just wondering if there were others out there too I may have missed.

I’ve looked. Those are the only two. The eBay ones use a hole instead of a slot, and they don’t fit well and rock back and forth. They’re a waste of money.

The delrin and aluminum Snaggletooth devices are both good. The aluminum is less slippery, but you can always use a file or soldering iron to texture the delrin for more grip on the back where your thumb goes. I haven’t felt the need to do that, they’re both good. And US made.

Do you prefer the Delrin or the Aluminum? Actually, this was in response to the last reply, but I see you answered it here! lol

Yeah I edited it to include that. I slightly prefer the aluminum for the sake of being metal, and less slippery as I mentioned. Both are great, the delrin is the best for the price.

And have to mention the company (one person, Rob) is outstanding. I was their first customer, and bought many. Had one issue with a delrin that I must have over tightened and caused a crack. Let him know about the split and he hooked me up with a few free ones. Never had another issue and I have maybe 3 dozen on various cold steel folders.
