Hey guys I am going to take apart a few knives of mine ie. the spyderco Ti Millie and protech tr3 integrity, and was going to polish the washers. After I use some fine grit sand paper, I was planning on using some metal polish. Is it ok to use stainless polish on bronze washers and other metal washers?

I went to a auto parts store and got some 2000 grit sandpaper, works good.
Don't know about polish.

Ya 2000 is what I got. I had read somewhere about using actual polish as well so I was just curious is anyone else has or what to use?

Also I have a friend that works at a metal finishing shop doing space craft grade finishing, and I was going to have him do a mirror like anodize on a titanium frame lock knife of mine, (haven't decided which one yet), but was curious if anyone had ever done this before and if they could post a picture of it so I can see what it might look like.

The washers don't care what the abrasive media is so you are good with your polish, I wouldn't go below 1500 girt on the sand paper though. You want to remove as little of the material as possible.

Ya I had heard some people say not to go below 2500, but I think 2000 will be fine.

You could load up the rough side with your polish and give it a go, it works mugc better when yo have control of the washer on a flat surface like a strop or belt. Just rub he washer along with your finger, but don't forget to rotate the washer or it could develop an uneven thickness

Edit* sorry for the spelling, I'm using my phone

Sounds good, I'll try putting the polish on the belt and trying to circulate the washer as much as possible.

After you get a polish, it wont make any difference past 800 grit, that will give you a mirror polish.
