Quick question about a CRKT glide lock?

my nine year old daughter wants to add that one to her collection but if it has blade play no thanks dad dose any know thanks

I've actually got one of these. It's awkward to say the least. It's possible to open it one handed (but ironically not really possible to open two-handed). You have to hold the knife b/w your index finger and thumb and push down & forward on the ridges at the bottem of the spine of the blade.

Closing is even more difficult. I don't think I've touched it since the day I bought it.

The ones I have handled seemed plenty tight. The knives themself are easy to operate, slide the bolster forward, use it as a thumb stud to open the knife, pull it back to lock. I haven't bought one tho I have played with a couple. I did buy one of the CRKT Kommer Fulcrum knives, very slick action and again a good tight lock up.

With the lock properly engaged, there is no bladeplay on mine.

That said, the lock is disengaged by sliding the plate under the blade forwards. This means that if you were to stab the knife into something, you might accidentally disengage it.

While its small size makes it seem like it´s suited for a younger owner, I would suggest it only for a responsible user who will exercise caution.
