Quick question about AK47 authenticity

Is there any way of photographically proving the legitimacy of an American Kensei? I got mine on the Busse sale thread back in mid-2000, and was just made aware of the fakes released last year. I'm currently getting messages asking for proof that mine is the real deal, so I'm thinking of delisting until I can provide it. I just want to clear things up as quickly as possible, as nursing school begins in a couple of weeks, and I don't want to start without my textbooks. Any help at all, including leading me in the right direction, would be greatly appreciated. Here are the photos I currently have of my ak. The cord wrap from the first photos was removed so good handle pictures could be taken. If anyone wants additional angles, please let me know.

Thank you very much, and have a nice day :-)

It's a fake. You should send it, and any others like it you have to me immediately for proper disposal. :D

Oh my... How much will I have to pay for the disposal fee?
Seriously though; my heart skipped a beat when I read the first sentence you wrote... *phew* :)

I have had a few and it looks right to me, but I am not Busse, E-mail Garth or one of the Busse crew the pics Monday to be sure and if they ask to have it sent in send it in.
But again in my limited experience it looks good to me, I would trade you some text books for it :)

P.S. welcome to the forums :)
You will need to up-grade your membership to sell or list anything and Blade Forums would be the best place to list that.

Best solution would be to get a grant or student loan for your books and keep the sword though :)

Welcome to Bladeforums!

Where are you trying to sell this? This is the best place to sell a Busse blade, and realize full value. If you upgrade to Gold, and sell here, you would likely have no problems.

To be frank, the mods on BF are trained to be suspicious of new members asking about blade values, or authenticity, as it can be a backhanded way of advertising a blade for sale without paying the required fees.

Got excited there for a minute when I saw "AK47". :D I would purchase this without reservation. (If I had the money)

@David Brown: I really wish I could keep my ak; I've had it for about half a decade for the imaginary post-apocalyptic scenarios (zombies) running through my head at the time. Its sentimental value alone is through the roof. But, I'm at a different part of my life now, and have to put it down until I'm financially stable enough to get another one someday. But by that time, I hope to afford a beater and a safe queen :P

@reisinguy: I'm somewhat regretting that, even if only based on the messages I've been getting from those at the site I'm selling at now. The reason I actually came here to ask was because gunbubba wanted peace of mind before placing his bid. I'm guessing that a "looks legit" from Garth is a good enough confidence booster.

@Circle10: "If I had the money"... I feel ya.

I've actually been on Blade Forums before. I used to lurk a lot back in the day, with the most "addicted" period ranging from around 2004/2005 to late 2007, and was pulled into Busse after reading some articles by Cliff Stamp. It's been a while since I last checked this site, but I was there and watched it all go down as Spark was eventually forced to ban Cliff from the forums. Another driving force behind my choosing the ak were the fun test videos by Tyrkon Lawson.

Almost a decade later, I find myself at a very different juncture in life, with different goals and aspirations. I've been accepted to and will be starting nursing school this spring, and have to make sure to have enough to afford my textbooks, uniform, and other supplies. I no longer live with my parents, nor am I a beneficiary of their delicious home cooking. As such, I have to let go of one of my old and highly sentimental possessions in order to gain a modicum of financial stability, with the hope that one day, when I have my career in full swing, another will be available for purchase.

Sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders :)

Good luck with the sale and even more luck on the schooling.

Always hard to realize you need other things more than Infi, but it happens.

Everything looks correct with that AK.

I have been looking for a AK and that looks real too me and would not hesitate to bid. Someone's gonna be happy.
