It's only illegal when you get caught! :D

:D :D :D Someone had to say it........... :)

But really, I have a weapons permit.....If they can trust me with a glock in wal-mart why not a automatic Benchmade???

See, the problem is that you're thinking logically. Logic and law rarely mix. Kind of like politicians and honesty.

Ah..........There I go again.............. Funny how people with CCW's seem to want to do that all the time............. :D

So I guess there fun to own but dont leave the house with them huh? That SUCKS!!!!! How are you supposed to buy it and transport it to your house if you cant leave the house with it.............Oops......logic again......

The same way you would if you bought a handgun and did not have a carry permit. A little logic works sometimes. ;)

There is not state law in the books regarding the ownership and carry of auto's in Georgia. (That is not the case within the Atlanta City limits where there is a law prohibiting autos.)

You can not legally carry it concealed, you can not carry it on school grounds, you can not carry it while committing a crime. Put it in a sheath on your belt or clip it in your pocket and stay out of trouble and out of the Atlanta city limits and your are golden according to Georgia law.:D. (at least as of 2002).

It depens on how GA's CCW works. If it's truly a concealed WEAPONS permit, it MIGHT cover an auto.

In Oregon, we have Conceal HANDGUN licenses that only apply to handguns (of course, it's legal to carry autos in Oregon without any license).

In many states, being convicted of any weapons-related crime means automatically loosing your concealed gun license. So, a conviction for carrying an illegal knife or illegally-concealed knife would mean no more concealed gun carry. As a result, you may want to think twice about illegally carrying an auto knife.

Wouldn't an auto be considered a "weapon"? Therefore, if you had a Concealed Carry Weapons permit, it means you can carry an auto just as long as it's concealed like your Glock, right? Or would that be considered logic? Laws, can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em.

GA knife statutes.http://pweb.netcom.com/~brlevine/ga.txt

When I applied for my Georgia CCW I asked. The auto is covered, but you still must obey the laws regarding concealed weapons at certain functions and school safety zones they can be restrictive. (Public gatherings, places where alcohol is served etc.) (note that it does not matter if school is not in session) If you are caught violating those laws, renewing your permit will be out of the question. Also keep in mind that it would be next to impossible for a L.E.O. to be aware of all the laws. So if he/she thinks you are doing something wrong or are some place you should not be that does not mean you will not have hassels.

As Chuck pointed out, Oregon law allows for a concealed handgun license. It only applies to handguns, nothing else. But then auto knives and balisongs are legal to carry as long as they are not concealed, pocket clip or sheath visible. Don't look for the logic, hide the gun, but not the knife. It is the law and we need to play by the rules if we want to play safely.
