I have a slight agrument here with a buddy. One of us seems to be color blind. These are the question: What color is the carbon fiber on a spyderco miliatry (s30v to be perticular)? And -what color is the Hinderer lock bar stabilizer on a Strider sng6? -Hey thanks.

Quick question about colors if you please

Carbon fiber itself is a bluish black. The epoxy resin that holds it together is translucent and usually has a yellow cast to it. You end up with a black handle unless you paint it.
Not all Spyderco Military's have carbon fiber handles. Most of them are G10. G10 itself is kind of beige, but it can be colored to be just about whatever, including black.
The Strider SNGs that I just looked at on line all have G10 handles. So they can be all sorts of colors as well.
Maybe you and your buddy are looking at different G10 handles and neither one of you is color blind.

I am talking about one of the limited edition CF millitary knives. I realize there is something like a checker board effect to it, so what color/colors are involved?
And as for the sng6, I am questioning the color of the actually lock stabilizer -the little round thing on the titanium side of the handle. If someone who owns one could chime in, that would probably be best, as it is pretty small. Thanks agian.

The checkerboard effect is the result of the weave of the carbon fibers themselves coupled with a high polish. The color change is the result of the varying thickness of visible resin and the changing reflection angle off the woven carbon fiber.
If it wasn't highly polished, the look is quite different.
