Bought a table with a glass top, and I noticed fine dust that looks like tiny hair all over the glass surface. Are those glass fibers, and if so, I am assuming that's a normal result of the manufacturing process?

Thanks.

The glass table tops I've bought had no fine dust on them. They were perfectly clean.

So I wouldn't assume it's normal. I'd call the place I bought it from and ask.

Any type of dust that comes with your glass tabletop should wipe off easily with a damp cloth leaving a perfectly clear, smooth surface. :)

A glass-topped table should have safety glass, glass which is made to shatter into a million small, very dull bits if it breaks. Unfortunately, any surface imperfection, scratch, chip, etc., can trigger the shattering behavior. So, if there is a scratch or chip, get it replaced.
