Quick question for knife nuts.

Partial because I do not have a S30V knife yet...
My quick answer is Bob Dozier D2. I have yet to do anything beyond a superficial touch-up on any of my 3 Doziers... they just keep on cutting and cutting. True performers at a mostly decent price.
I would be interested in other's experiences with S30V.

S30V is the superior steel. It holds an edge better and is twice as tough. That being said, you really can't go wrong with D2. They are both superior steels. I use both and will continue to. Another Crucible steel, CPM 3V also makes superior blades.
D2 is easier to grind and cheaper, so I can build a knife somewhat cheaper with it than S30V or 3V.

Thanks for the response guys. I actually have my own design, and I'm just curious which steel would best serve my need.

I have a lot of experience with D2. One of my EDC is D2. But I need to explore new horizon.

:)
