I've seen past threads where people mentioned that the micarta scales for the necker require a bit of modding to go on the San Mai Necker (slightly smaller cut-outs apparently).

What about the the Camillus Becker? Are the dimensions on the Camillus and Ka-Bar neckers the same? Anyone tried putting the scales on an original Necker?

Bladite, could you hold up the Ka-Bar to the Camillus and give me an eyeball guesstimation? Or anyone else who has both?

they seem very very similar to me. i think i've put KaBar scales on a Camillus even... will have to check later to be *for certain* but yeah

I am so glad SOMEBODY knows.....
All Best....
ethan

i know all...

well. all most...

the micarta fits the camillus model JUST FINE... that particular BK11 lives in the sheath pocket of the Eagle Industries housing that holds my most favorite Machax user, and also contains a KaBar American made BK13, and a Light My Fire sparking rod. you know, for when the zombies come.

thus.

i'll update the FAQ a touch :)

Bladite is the man.

Well, I'm in no rush now. Was going to order some micarta scales from Tomars for the Ritter/Becker goodness coming (hopefully) in January. Thought I'd snag some micarta swag for my original Necker too. However, the bigger scales are backordered till Jan 1.

See? I'm not always borderline schizophrenic. I ask a good question once in a while. :p

You know, you almost slipped that past me. Whose soul do I have to sell in order to get one of those? :D

grumble grumble :)

Thanks for the data!

I'm limping along on a MO-SHEEN from the 1990's (seriously). Pic heavy threads just slow it to an aggravating near-death crawl, so the FAQ kind of scares me right now.

New computer coming soon though!

Please don't tell me the American KaBar is carbon steel.

they had computers back then? wow. they even allow them in TN. sweet.

It could be worse. I still have a Commodore 64 (64K of RAM... that's right... 64K). I could be trying to connect to Bladeforums on that sucker. :D

Honestly though, I think my iPhone is faster than this laptop when it comes to downloading pages.

the first computer of consequence had 4k ferrite core memory :) didn't own it. was worth too much ;)

next one had 16k, then 48k, actually maxed that out writing assembly code.

these days, ipods have 64 GB retina displays. sick.

as it turns out, i do some of my day time modding here with iPhone or an iPad. the latter on a fast wifi atually flies! better than my work laptop, and more capable than almost any computer i owned prior to apple's stuff. sick.

I was just gonna say how my iPhone blows away the Dell I had only a few years ago. Gotta love technology!
