Quick Question on Busse Sage Coating

Hey folks .. I have a question.. .

I received a NMFBM last week and it is sage and black micarta... The plans were to strip it asap , like what I did to my sage FFFBM when I received it..

Right after I took a good look at the blade I had a change of heart.. I noticed the sage on the NMFBM looks darker than the sage I am used to seeing.. I did not think I would be saying this but this sage looks very nice with the black hand shaped micarta. I swear Busse has changed the sage coating or something because up until now I hated it...

Can anyone post side by side shots of a Sage NMFBM and anyother sage coated blade to see if there is a difference?

I am glad you got it and like it. I thought the sage coating on it looked a lot better than my Miliganza AD which I did strip.
 
The recent pics sure look darker than the sage on my miliganzas I sold.
It was very light, and was the ugliest thing I had ever seen.
Your pic and others looks much better to me, so I hope it's gotten a bit darker since it first came out.

I agree Ken..... ugly sums it up pretty well.. I also found the lighter color sage wore out faster when put through general use...

So far I have batoned, chopped, and pryed with my new sage NMFBM and the coating barely looks affected...

I am thinking Jerry cooked up a new batch of sage coating that looks better and is more durable!!! I like !!!! :)
 
you guys are all drunk, which isn't a bad thing. i collect sage and have it clear back to the first. i just compared them and the sage i have is all exactly the same. wardens, meaners, hearts, fmb's...
all the same as my nmfbm.

Wow, it sure looked nice on that big blade! Sage with Black Micarta is the best color combo for a user right now IMO. Though I still love the looks of black on black g-10, and have yet to own Jungle/OD Green.

I plan on ordering OD for my CG NM SFNO. -- IF that's what the next offering truely is... Man, we need some specs--I bet they come by this weekend. Or a teaser for the Knoboganzaa... Or BOTH...

Lets see some pictures then... I know I am not the only one that thinks the sage has undergone a face lift....

I have owned many sage blades in my time.. Right when I opened up the box and took out my NMFBM , first thoughts were damn, look like a darker sage... sweet ! Maybe I'm just getting too old and my eyes are playing tricks on me.. :eek:

That black/blackg10 NMFBM you have looks awesome...Possibly one of my favorite color combos for that model.. :thumbup::thumbup:
 
I had planned on stripping my NMFBM in Urban/black g10, but changed my mind when I saw it, too.

Not to mention it's work.

I am going to commit myself to the asylum :grumpy: or maybe I cut myself one too many times with infi and the tetnis is starting to pickle my brain...

ooomphhh! The only cure is to beat the Sage NMFBM for 1 hour and repeat every day for a week...
