Hi new guy here. Lol. I’m wanting to reshaping a knife I had made from 1084 , I already heat treated it and tempered . If I do , do I need to re “heat treat it” and temper again? Thanks.

How are you reshaping? Are you removing material from the blade edge, spine or both? If your only grinding on the spine you'll only need to be careful at the tip. If you taking back the edge, go slow and light. You'll also need to touch up your bevels as the edge will be thicker from the material removed.

If your careful you wont have an issue. Many of us do all our bevel grinding after heat treat as some steels bend like crazy during heat treat (AEB-L i'm talking to you). Even then, pretty well all blades get touched up after HT in some way. Some people also sharpen on their grinders which is another hotly debated topic.

Take it slow with light pressure and dip after every pass and you'll be fine.
