Quick Question, what kind of steel did Greco use on his Dangler Shinning knife?

It was made right before he took his short break from making knives a while back.

It's some kind of coated blade, kinda looks like the gray military finish that used to be all over bck then too.

Thanks in advance for you help folks.

Most all of his blades were made from 8670 when I bought my small collection back in 2002-2003. The coating is referred to as "John's crib-safe coating"....also as "G-1" I see his site now lists 52100 for the Caper Danglers.
Any way you cut it (pun intended) good bang for your knife$$'s!!

Thanks Larry that's exactly what I wanted to know, sadly I have to sell it, Johns knives are truly great bank for the buck unfortunately the stitching on the sheath and the web set up need a little work.

But than again his worst work on his worst day is far superior to my best work on my best day, still all in all, John makes a true working mans knife.

Thanks again for the quick comeback.
