Quick question

Are the grind angles listed on the database sticky inclusive or each side? So another words are the bk11/14 15 degrees total or each edge side for 30 degrees total? Also the edge angles for the tweeners are not listed. Does anyone know the edge angle for the bk15/16/17? Thanks.

Its per side.

So the BK11/14 are 15 degrees per side (30 degrees total). All the others that I'm aware of are 20 degrees per side (40 degrees total)..

The Ka-bar site shows the to be 20 degree http://www.kabar.com/knives/detail/5. Seems like it would be the same as the 14 (which is listed at 15 degrees http://www.kabar.com/knives/detail/145). Anyone got an official word that contradicts the Ka-bar site?

Great question man. The Becker blade database says 15 per side for those two, but i have no idea which one of those I trust more (website or the blade database). So I'll defer to those that know.

My 11 I get second hand after it had been choiled and sharpened, so I've got no idea what the original angle on that one was.

In 2014 and 2015 KA-BAR catalogs all the Becker's shows 20 degrees.
Go figure!
