Hey people,

I saw on ebay two kershaw green bumps: One was being advertised as having a liner lock and another said that it had a frame lock. Are they the same, or might that just be a mistake on the store's part?

So, might the knife being advertised as a bump with a linerlock be a knockoff?

Actually, I was thinking either a mistake in model designation (Spec versus Bump) or a mistake in description.

Email them and ask.

Then again, some people confuse the two types of lock (not everyone is knowledgeable in the area).

It is very easy to confuse the two type of lock since they both lock the bolster in the same fashion. The frame lock uses part of the frame as the spring. The liner lock has a little spring inside the handle, the liner.

All the Bump/Leek/Scallion/Chive line of knives are framelocks.
The old Boa has a linerlock, though.
Not that it matters terribly.

Most likely a mistake on the listers part, the Spec Bump uses the Stud-Lock and has a black G-10 handle and would be hard to mistake for the shiny green handled Bump.

Nice one, I now know my Chive is a frame lock and my Blur is a liner lock!

Every day's a school day...

I have a Scallion and its a liner lock. The Leek and Chive are frame locks though.
