Hey everyone.

So my wife and I went on a little impromptu jeep run, while out we decided to stop and make some rice and coffee with the fire.

So, just some random pics to take a look at, theres a saying that I believe fits this forums to a T.... "some come here to sit and think, some come here to stew and stink, I come here to scratch my parts and read the Bos Taurus excrement on the walls"

Enjoy. :D

Nice pics. :D

As a fellow "Jeep Guy", how about a pic of the Jeep?

I'd say a Jeep certainly would qualify as "Outdoor Gear, Survival Equipment & More". :D

I like the quote! I worry about what I fall under....pweew! Shit and stink I guess. :)

I totally agree with you, any vehicle is a part of your kit.

Glad to see a brother from Alberta having a great outing !

My kit is covered also , but in black. Nice Ruby you have there.

Oh! Beautiful man, its where most of my extra money has gone, new knife? Or cold air intake? Lol

The front bumper is the Rugged Ridge XHD (modular.)
In addition...
Warn Winch HS9500i and I just added 3/8"x80' Amsteel Blue Synthetic Line, Warn Fairlead/Neoprene Cover
OME 2" (2.5") Lift (plus .75 front spacer because of winch)
JKS Front/Rear Track Bars
Currie Front UCAs
Goodyear Duratracs 285/75/16
ProComp 7089 wheels
A to Z Sliders
AEV Procal
...and a bunch of straps, chains, snatchblocks, tools, etc.,

I prefer not to think about how much money I've spent on it. :D

Nice Rubi, by the way.
I'm thinking my next one will be a Rubicon. Haven't decided on a 2 door or 4 door yet. My only complaint is the lack of cargo hauling capability with the 2 door. I've been looking into a roof rack system, but they don't come cheap for the JKs. Come to think of it, nothing is cheap on the JKs.

And just to show I'm not afraid to get it muddy, another gratuitous pic...

I used to have a cold air intake on mine until the first time I took it off road after installing it I hosed it with mud and water and ruined the filter and almost sucked water into the engine. Cold air intakes are a no-no on an off road jeep. The stock air box gives the jeep more than enough air flow and it protects it from mud and water. I learned that one the hard way.

Oh and I've snapped both my hood latches twice as well :)

With a very thurough clean, I have had no issues, that said im not a huge 4X4'er, just enjoy the odd offroad trip.

I have a snorkel on my short list of mods yet to be done. In the "muddy pic" of my Jeep above, you can see the results of a misjudgement of mud/water depth. It looked much worse on the front. I nose-dived into a deep puddle and I don't know how I escaped hydro-locking. The passenger side front was swallowed by the mud. :D That was before my winch and other mods and was lucky to get out of it as my rear tires were submerged as I pulled my way through. And for the record, the Jeep was completely covered in mud by day's end. :D

So far, I've had good luck with the hood latches. When I first got the Jeep, I installed a Tereflex spacer/leveling kit. It really pushed the front up in comparison to the rear and I had A LOT of hood flutter on the highway. Felt like the hood was going to rip off at any time. I replaced the leveling kit promptly.

VTguy17,
How are you liking your OME shocks? I can't believe how nice they ride.

I hear ya, I've escaped hydro locking death many many times and I don't know how, someone is watching over me. I have a bad habit of saying "I can make it, hold on" it must be a jeep thing lol. The countless times I've had the jeep face first buried in a mud hole....ohh the memories.....

I love the OME shocks there great. I've had them for about 2 years and I find them a little stiff on the road but there amazing on the trail.
