Hey all. A while back I posted in this thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=628248 a question about Sharpshooter sheaths being somewhat "loose". Now I really like my leather sheath. I think it compliments my RC-3 wonderfully, is made very well and allows me to carry my RC-3 baldric style, which I prefer. I just felt that I needed a little more retention than the single strap offered, so I came up with this little mod. I simply used a velcro strap (the kind you use for organizing computer cables as they are double-sided) and a little bobbin off of a binocular strap. Cut a little slot in the strap, mount it on the bobbin and push it through one of the holes in the sheath. Presto! Now, when I undo the velcro it is secured to the sheath. The added strap adds more security against knife loss. It slows the draw down a bit, but I'm not really in a hurry most of the time
Best of all, it is not permanent and I did not have to damage the sheath. A few lousy pics to give you an idea. Any comments or suggestions welcomed!!
