Quick stupid question

586 scales would fit a 585 correct? Thinking about having some custom scales made and am debating a 2 piece look with contrasting colors.

You're right, it is a quick question. Stupid... no. The scales should fit. I got rid of my 585 before I got my 586, otherwise I'd test it for you.

In pictures it LOOKS like the holes are all in the same place, I'd just hate to spend the $ and find out I'm wrong.

The holes will be in the same place. What's underneath should not interfere. If you're having custom scales made, just send the knife to the person and have him design the scales to fit the knife. I can't see why it would not work since the liners and Axis lock spacing are exactly the same.
