Just wanted to drop a post here publicly thanking Bob (
Rufus1949
) for both reaching out to me to start a conversation on where to find old Case knives, but also for sending me a really cool 100 year old Utica knife.
In my short time here, I’ve been amazed at how kind and helpful users are to each other. You see it every day on here. Someone going out of their way to help another user find what they are looking for, or even sending said user a knife with no strings attached.
Bob reached out to with a tip to find Case knives from a certain time period and I was able to snag an old Case pen knife and a Bobby Toole custom from the place he suggested.
In our back and forth messages, we found out that we both had spent an inordinate amount of money on stereo equipment and cool old steel Italian bikes. And then randomly, he asked me if I wanted a cool old Utica he was cleaning up. His exact words were: “I have this old Utica that's more show than go I can send you. Always nice to have some old ones just to see how they were made. This I think is from early 1900's.”
He posted the knife up the next day and it was in my mailbox in just two days.
Pretty sweet knife and he was right, it is nice to have an ‘old one to see how they were made.”
Huge thanks to Bob and all the other folks that I’ve had kind interactions with here. There are some damn good people on this forum, and I feel blessed to be a part of it.
