An old boy at work brought in his Draper for me to sharpen.

I forgot to take any before pics but it was just light/surface rust and a blunt and dinged up edge.

Only took a short while on the belt grinder and wet and dry to flitz it back to life.
It's really not pretty, but the old bugger didn't want it all shiny-like.

(The head is still well seated but I shall be recommending a good soak in linseed)

May have to give it a few test cuts tomorrow, it's a bit dark now. I bet it's a good splitter (despite its lack of belly).

Anyone else being doing some err quick touch ups?

It looks beautiful to me. A working axe should look like a working axe.

I had to do a quick touch up on my machete today. I was whacking my way in to some alders that needed to be removed and found a rock that was hidden by a covering of salal. I dinged the sweet spot on the edge of the machete. Thankfully I had a small stone in my pack.

Cheers chaps.

Well it turns out this axe is actually is from the seventies, it's just not seen much use.
Am not surprised though because, for me at least, it's pretty unwieldy.
It just wants to pull me over!

Ah well, am sure the old boy can manage it.
Will see what he thinks to my sharpening tomorrow.
