I've been offered a Kershaw Boa (full size) for a BM Stryker (full size). Opinions?

Thanks,
FmrMarine

welcome to the forums, and I would keep the benchmade, personally

I'd have to disagree with La Bella, if the Boa is the black-handled version with plain blade. This is just a matter of taste, though. Both knives are about equal in quality and value. Just choose the one that you prefer, and you won't go wrong. Now, if the Stryker is an auto, that would win, hands down!

Keep the Stryker. It's more pocket-friendly, considering the blade size. It's also a Benchmade (nothing against Kershaw, but, well, you know...). And..... It's discontinued. Get yourself a Boa at some point if you want one, but you can still find them in stores. 910 Stryker? I think not.

Peace.

Personally I would keep the BM, but I can't imagine that you'd be disappointed with the Boa either.

Like somebody else said, pretty much comes down to personal prefference.

If that Stryker is M2, I'd keep it. S60V vs M2 is no comparison as far as edge retention.

Otherwise, another difference is that the Boa is an assisted openers, the Stryker has a thumb disk. Both are liner locks. The Boa has aluminum handles and the Stryker has G-10.

Sharpening a Stryker can be difficult, as a tanto edge can take practice to get right. I have the Serrated version in M2, which pretty much makes 3 blades to sharpen (tip, belly, serrations) on 1 knife. As you already have one, you probably know what I mean already.

If you like a knife with a belly, and a little recurve, the Boa would be more your speed. Both are about the same price.
