This past Saturday was heading up to Visalia for this - http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1449230-Friction-Folder-101

so Friday was Sequioa, I'd been kind of lazy lately so it felt good to get in more than 10,000 steps that day :-)

On the drive back down to LA/OC, I stopped at Wind Wolves Preserve for a mid day hike.

What is that stag-handled knife in your pictures?

I like that Vagnino friction folder. You should have tried for a double header and spent time with Ray Laconico after you were with Mike Vagnino.

I live in Visalia and get to Giant Forest regularly, so my interest is more in the Wind Wolves preserve. It looks like an interesting place.

That is a bird and trout frame handle. James Rodebaugh MS design. I did that in Wyoming with James at his shop. I recently did one in ironwood burl that was listed for sale.

Wind wolves was pretty good. Bring your picnic lunch.

I'm making two more of those friction folders right now so I can embed my learning. :-)
