This thing is the ultimate EDC.

Medium size- check
Thin slicy Vanax blade- check
No corrosion ever- check
Thin profile for easy pocket carry- check
Tall enough handle is very comfy for all but the meatiest of paws- check
Killer forward sharpening/thumb choil- check
Amazingly easy deployment- check
Smooth action on easy maintenance washers- check
Awesome POP sound when the blade locks in place- check
Beautiful minimalist styling- check

It's just a great knife for $300.
All the reviews are true.
I actually like it better than my Small Sebenza 31 and Arno Bernard iMamba.

Hurry up and get one before they're sold out again.

Damn it! I am trying to resist! Don’t make me do it! Been eyeing these for a while now.

I've always liked the Drift but have never ended up actually getting one. I am wanting a near-rust proof knife for fishing and stuff though. It's between the Drift or the Spydiechef for me. A tough decision.

They do make very nice knives, had the Drift in G10 but didn't keep it long, I'm just not big on knives with only 3" blades, also owned the Waypoint which is a Bugout killer great EDC knife. Currently own the Drift-L, it is actually thinner than I thought it would be and was hoping it would be a little more hand filling, the blade is thin and with the high flat grind should slice like a laser, out of the box if you told me the knife was on bearings instead of PB washers I'd believe it.

I must say I find your enthusiasm and salesmanship impressive! We need to get a Les George in ya hand. The Les “G’s” could you use a gangsta like you! 😎

Interesting.
Care to tell us why you like the G-10 version more?
Nothing against the FL. I like both.
Just that my tastes have changed from preferring FL to LL. (And smaller, 3 inch or under blades. That open manually.)
In my experience, the action on a LL can be smoother and easier to open.

Example: I bought the first Giant Mouse Riv.
It's a FL and as much as I liked it, I hoped for a LL version.
Which GM has now made. Actually two different LL versions.

First was a limited edition special Ti LL.
Wow! Loved it. Now, sadly, long out of stock.

Later, came a dark OD green Micarta LL Riv.
Love it more.
Just like the QC G-10 Drift.

BTW -- have you seen the new Drift with Croc scale?
Nice! A frame lock that's got my attention.

Not much to add other than to confirm your findings - I’m 4 days into my new Drift, and it’s unbelievably great in all ways. It’s a laser beam for cardboard and light food prep - haven’t done any difficult tasks with it yet, but I don’t think it’s much meant for that anyway. Will take it fishing with me next week when it warms back up (damn this arctic weather in the northwest).

It’s also worth noting that it fully disappears in the pocket, has a superior pocket clip to the Spyderco wire clips, and, for the lefty’s, can be easily manipulated and closed with left hand only. Seems to be kind of unique in that way for frame locks.

I believe that Vanax is the most stainless of the stainless steels. And tougher than any other powder stainless steel other than Larrin's MagnaCut.

But it's the fine-grained goodness of the edge that speaks to me.

Last night I sharpened up my Rukus 610 with a 15 dps custom Vanax blade by Josh at REC (and 15 thousandths behind the edge). I took my time, grit by diamond grit, stopping (not stropping) with a 1.5 micron diamond stone.

The edge was so sharp that it sliced cleanly through thin notebook paper with no effort and barely any sound at all. It was spooky. It sliced off hair-thin curly cues.

And yet, when I've used it as a chopper on branches, it has suffered no damage, unlike other steels that have failed doing the same task at the same or more robust geometry: Aus8, S30V and A8(mod).

Wonderful steel.

I'm partial to my Waypoint. It's become easily my most carried knife over the last year. Perfect amount of cutting edge in a light, sleek package. I'm very interested in checking out the Waypoint XL whenever they put out the TI versions.
