This is my custom bowie Bali-Song!!!! This is unbelievably sweet, words can barely describe it!! I purchased it from Dawkind who threw in a absolute brand spankin new sheath for a 3in bali. This thing is a beast!! The handles and blade are much thicker than production Bali-Songs!

Sorry my pictures kinda suck, like I said before, it's really hard to get clear pics with my camera. I think that it is a Bali-Song Cutlery Bali-Song, if it was PC wouldn't it have a patent number?:

and just a day earlier I received a sheath that is the exact same kind from my friend mmtmatrix:

I have more pics in my ClubPhoto Album, check out my signature for that. Thanks a ton to Dawkind for the custom and sheath and a big thanks to Malcolm for the sheath!!

Very nice. How much did that one cost? And why on earth would Dawkind surrender that custom?

BTW, I'm gonna be in Topeka sometime in July Dawkind (got family in Spring Hill, close to the border of MO). If you have any more customs that you need to part with, I'll be at your doorstep.

I suspect that it's actually Pacific Cutlery era. The little (r) registered trademark on the logo is the tell. They didn't put the patent numbers on the customs.

It's a fabulous piece. Even without seeing it, I'm just about certain that that's a Jody Samson blade.

That blade will be very difficult to photograph (I'm struggling with one right now). The hollow grind of the blade is difficult and then the swedge takes off in a completely different direction. It's very hard to get it all right.

Congratulations on a very nice centerpiece for your collection.

I keep thinking that same thing. I keep acquiring a new piece and saying, "This is the best there is. I'm done." And then something even better comes along.

WOW!!
I love that blade design.. I think that the clip point bowie is almost better tthan a tanto for having a strong point.

I bought this one a while back...
The same, but different.

blade_420:
What kind of knife is that, did it come with that kind if finish or did you have that done?Is it bead blasted, cause that's what it kinda looks like?
Nice knife though,I really like that blade style too, wish we could see some of these style's soon.Maybe MT will get the hint.

Oh I started flipping the second it touched my hot little hand!!!! I love this thing soooooooo much, it is swwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeet
biggrin.gif

Gollnick: that's exactly the problem I have trying to photograph it is how the light hits all the different parts of the blade, it's really hard. At first I thought that it might be a PC 402 but it doesn't have a number on the reverse side of the tang (reverse of the logo). I had no idea the handles were so thick, it is super awesome flipping it!!

Ahhh, my first custom balisong and my first custom Bali-Song, it feels so great.

Cpt. Howdy: look close to a week back in the For Sale/Trade forums for the answer to your first question.

Stagger Lee,
It's a Pacific Cutlery custom (no pat #) Bali-Song USA. It has the (R) with the butterfly.

Yes, that's a very subdued beadblast finish.
The only reflections that come off it are from the edge.

This is the only 4" PC I own, and I felt the same way as you did when I received it, Balisongman.

Holy Crap Cam!!!

That's amazing!!!! I know where I am going to be going this summer ... seriously I am going to come over and we will flip, or you can come up here. I hope you enjoy the sheath, yeh, me and DD got them from the same place... Enjoy!!! Also I hope you like that custom bowie, its amazing!!! Take care, and have fun!!!

mmtmatrix: Now I just need to get several 3 in Bali-Songs with polished pins, I also need about Bali-Song sheaths for my 45 2nd, 45SHD, my custom bowie, and I guess I need one for my 42.

The beadblast finish must have been factory, or else it was done with the knife dis-assembled, and then re-assembled.

Not too sure 'bout that, here's a 45 i beadblasted a few years ago. This was'nt disassembled before, i used compressed air to get all "muck" out of the pivots.

This one has been used <font color=red>VERY<font color=black> much, but performs great.
I do regret that i cut off the latch, it did seem a good idea at the time, Clay made me realize how stupid it was by looking at his x-ellent site.

I do think that someone posted some scans of a USA/PC/BM catalog that had the beadblasted finish as an option, very cool!

<font color=red>I want BM to go back to a full custom balisong series again, so many beautiful models

i want users, not collectibles!!
