So, Since we don't have a kershaw Bali just yet and i know that us R.A.M. owners will endlessly flip these addictive litter buggers i thought i'd start a thread for youtube links of vids of manipulation. this one is nothing fancy, just opening with all 10 fingers and some twirls at the end.

here goes:

I still don't quite understand how the lock works. What are the benefits? Can someone explain, or post a video about it?

ok slade, here is what i need you to do...take the RAM nad hold it in your right hand, pinky at the butt, thumb nail on the front of the lock, all other fingers on the other side. you will hold the knife with pressure from all your fingers (keeping the pinky towards the back or the top of the handle in a normal grip). then what you do is hold the knife so that the blade will point up when open.

push down on the lock with your thumb, and flick your wrist. with a little practice and timing you can get it to open and close in that position very fast. makes for a cool show :D (i will try to get a vid up soon!)

Really slick vid, really shows off the R.A.M.'s flipping capabilities.

Great video.
I love to see knives in action, especially something as special as this one.
I haven't been this excited for a knife since the ZDP Caly 3, I'm pretty sure the R.A.M. will be one of my all time favorite knives (even without a super steel blade).

BTW Thomas, it would probably be a pretty good candidate for a composite blade as well (pleeease:)).

i assume you are talking about the wrist flick open and close. i got used to that when my JYDII's pivot screw worked itself loose and i left it that way for a couple of days. i can get it right handed about every 5th or 6th try and left handed (using middle finger nail) about every 8th. when i have it down consistently i will post a new vid. but i am sure others will beat me to it.

as far as the second one for two hands goes.....waiting for this round of bills to clear and then im sure mary-beth will be hearing from me. this is one of the few knives where i decide from the get go that i will own every variation (PE) that is produced. in the meantime ill settle for two of the first 500 :)

Very good, obviously no arthritis in those hands.

oddly enough my hands are the only joints that don't feel old. stupid genetics.

ill post more vids once i master the wrist flick and the balance point for twirling heehee
