RAM passaround is open to two more participants since OL has dropped.

all participants will receive contact information via email for the person both before and after them in the passaround.

The knife is here! (review below)

Well, due largely to the unfathomable generosity of this forum, I will be receiving a R.A.M. from the first batch, shipped directly to me. I would love to give a knife back to the forums, but I don't think I could bring myself to give away my third Kershaw. And since I know so many of you out there are dying to try the R.A.M out for yourselves, I will send mine out for a passaround (I'll keep myself busy by getting a RAM ST and an ET while it's gone)

To participate in the passaround:
must be a paid member OR 18+ and a member for over three months
must live in CONUS
Must bear total responsibility for the knife from the moment the shipping company labels the package delivered until it is delivered to the next passaround participant
must keep the knife for no longer than a week
MUST post a review, and pictures of this knife
Must EDC at least once.
Must sharpen if the blade is dulled (or notify the next recipient if you feel your skills are not up to par)

Participation will be limited to 10 or so people, depending on how closely spaced the participants are.

post to sign up, but don't forget to email me! BookwormDOTrATgmailDOTcom

By my estimate I should be mailing the knife to the first participant within a month. I know it's a little early but I want to commit to this before I forget to be generous.

Here is the list of participants (in order)
Robert Nickell (Bookworm) Whittier, CA
Robert N () Lake Elsinore, CA
Edward L. (Elarski) Santa Maria, CA
Brett WS () OKC, OK
David H. (TexasNativeDRJH) Friendswood, TX
Ben S. () Blowing Rock, NC
Jack Lowe (JackLowe) Colombus, OH

Yeah, I'm in for the MUDD passaround, so I'll pass on this one...

But the RAM will get its chance, once they are released!

Thanks for the offer bw....

This is a knife that has been on my radar for quite a while, but it is one I'd like to check out before purchasing. I've never participated in a passaround before, but it sounds simple enough. This will give me a reason to start posting more, as well. I'm in.

Thanks for the generousity Bookworm, but I'll let the others have a shot at this one.
I'll be getting myself 1 are 2 of these when they hit the shelves.

Again, thanks for the offer.

I'd love to be part of the pass around. I've never done one, but I have no problem with the rules & believe I fill the qualifications. Email enroute.

how the heck did i miss this? count me in. i will send the e-mail tomorow, too tired right now.

Well, the RAM arrived today. My first impression was that it was a smaller knife than expected, but I guess I've grown used to the size of my speeed bump. It is also heftier (not heavier) than the bump, since the RAM is all metal and G10, but the bump has synthetic handles.

upon visual inspection of the knife it appears that the clip was mounted in tip-up then moved over, there are a few small scratches around that clip area, and the metal is a bit distressed around the screw holes. no biggie.

Next step: flick it open! did not touch the lock, flipped open not quite as fast as expected, but appreciably nonetheless. Upon releasing the lock the knife did not swing closed as shown in a youtube video, but I'm sure it will loosen up soon.

after pressing the lock, the blade swings open blazingly fast.

as I promised, I would write about ambidextrous use. since the lock is only on the right hand thumb side, it is trickier to operate southpaw.

Easiest open is to hit the lock with your middle finger and hit the flipper with your index. The small thumb studs are difficult to use without activating the lock.

pictures and video to follow shortly. right now its dinnertime.
