R.A.T. in the FS section??? why??

Why is it that there are NEVER any R.A.T.s in the for sale or trade sections?? Or on Ebay for that matter?? I mean I know you guys love your RATs but man o man!!! I've been looking on here and FeeBay for weeks now and I just can't seem to grab one (or 2)!! I've been looking for one for my dad for Christmas and its just not looking good!!! I'm not here to whine (or wait... guess I am whining:foot:) but man it's just tough finding a few R.A.T.s!!! I had myself a nice RC-3 and an Izula but some scumbag thought they needed them more than I, along with my spare tire, tool kit, air pump and ruck sack!!! The sack had all my emergency tools/flares/duct tape, zip ties/WD-40 and most important my darned RC-3 and Izula (along with a few other chapo knock off Spydercos and a few box cutters). Gotta love some people!! I was at a job interview (just laid off a few weeks back) and someone popped my trunk lock with a screwdriver or something! I mean com'n who takes a spare tire???? They also got the disk changer that mounts in the trunk, jokes on them with that!! Bought the car off a buddy and his kid filled the CD changer with gum!!! lol,,, Anyways back to the point!! Stop loving your RATs so much:D!!! I want to replace mine and get my father one for Christmas as well!!! Pretty sure they are the least sold in the FS (or trade)section!! Thanks for listening to my rant!!
 
There are many reputable dealers that are right here on bladeforums.

Buy from them.
 
There are a lot of great RAT dealers around the internet. Go to rat cutlery .com and choose from the dealer list :thumbup::thumbup: And yes...we do LOVE our RATs here! :cool: BTW sorry to here about some scumbag robbing your stuff.
 
hi, just looked on ebay, there are alot of rats on there, type in rat knives and the pop up.

Sorry to hear that.

I sold a Desert Tan RC-4 over at SIG Forums and it was snapped-up in an hour. The buyer was 5 miles away.

I also sold an RC-3 and that was gone in a day.

RAT owners tend to hang on to them because they are badass knives that are built like a damn tank. Honestly, if someone wanted to buy my RC-4, they would have to pay me at least twice what I paid for it. It's that simple. I don't want to get rid of it despite the couple of offers I have had lately. Good luck on your search.
 
Yea eBay has a ton, but usually higher prices than most of the dealers here, and questionable shipping. Rats relatively new as a company in terms of a world timeline. Not really goin to find alot of used knives popping up

Well most of my RATs went out on the forum when I sold them... of course they were all Ontario RATs, not RC's.... details, details.... :)
 
RC knives pop up on the exchange in waves, at a right $ they don’t last long! Also, I have noticed certain online distributors have sales occasionally on RC products, a few months ago I saw a RC 4 (orange /green combo) w/ leather sheath for $108, that is an awesome deal!
 
You don't see RATs on the exchange, because nobody wants to get rid of theirs. There's no reason to get rid of them- they're so good, folks want to keep the ones they have. It's pretty good testimony to the quality of the knives, because there are a TON of them out there.

I know I won't be selling any of my RATs. Ever.
 
I just checked eBay. There's plenty of Izulas, but most of the other "RAT" knives, are the Ontarios. It wasn't long ago that someone bought a RAT-5, thinking it was an RC5, so be careful that you know what you're buying.

I don't know about that. The seller I got my Izula from deals exclusively in RAT knives and is consistently cheaper than any other dealer. Fast, free shipping too.
 
I know that they can be found on FeeBay but all BIN and the prices are higher than many of the dealers plus I'm looking for used (and I've been burned a few times on Ebay and PayPal buyer protection is a JOKE!!!)... I know they are worth the $$ but lets face it money isn't abundant in the ZEF household! That's why I'm looking for some good old fashion already enjoined RATS. The Zu isn't the issue replacing it's the RC-3's that I'm having a hard time coming up with the cash for. I'd take a nicely used one for me, but for my father I'd much prefer a newer one. I know why they aren't found often, just posting to re-enforce that RAT owners LOVE them RATS!!! When I started looking it was only for one, the one for my father. Now since I live in losserville I need to replace my own knives as well as well as my safety gear! Really bugs me, makes me wonder what I did to bring upon this bad run of karma lately. I'm fortunate enough to have a few other back up knives, but none of them really fit me like my RATs! I'm sure if I'm diligent enough I'll be able to scoop up a RC-3 or 2! After the holidays money won't be as tight anyways so who knows!! Plus I put them both on my Amazon wish list!

Things learned from this:
-We love our RATs
-Don't get laid off
-DON'T LEAVE anything of value in the trunk!!! And to think they want people to lock their guns up in the trunk?!?!?!?!
