PL,

The Rolling Lock is just plenty strong, period. Pocket Hobbit is a specific fighter, and the need for a secure locking is just too important, especially if you're planning to use the teethy spine part (they're not serrations) of the knife. I have both the old version (bar release) and the new one (button release), together with some other REKATs, and so far have never had any problems with rolling locks.

Like I said it's a specific knife, and mine came with front release kydex sheaths. With a little practice you should be able to deploy your knife lightning fast. The only problem I have with the Pocket Hobbit is that it's too big and too scary for people around me (sheeple!).

thanks a bunch, frantium. i think i'll invest in one. i really like what i've seen on their webpage...and i like what everyone else says. thanks again, man.

Hi PL!
Good choice. The P.Hobbit is all knife! I have one, send it in for re-finishing(in knife review section) and loved it more ever since! The rolling lock is UUMMPPHH! Strongest i've seen so far! On par with axis-lock i must say.
But it IS a specific knife, becareful when you carry one cause it is illegal in most parts of states.
Anyhow, enjoy it! If you have a few extra bucks to spare, send it to a pro to re-finish it! You won't regret it, one person came up to mind is Allen Blade.
