Dio died earlier today. Great rocker from the 80's; I had many (too many) allnighters in navy A-school with coffee, Dio, Ozzy, Leppard, and others to keep us going for the tests the next day. He'll be missed.

thx - cpr

I just heard about it this evening. It's a very sad day for the METAL world.:(

I seen him twice in the 80's.He was an outstanding performer.I don't think he ever got the credit he deserved.

Rest In Peace,RJD

Man on the Silver Mountain - that brings back memories.

I liked Rainbow In The Dark so much, that I got myself & two roommates written up, and we stood midnight watches every night for a week because we played it too loud, over & over again. We were authorized to have clock radios, NOT a Phillips #8443 boom box. The OOD (a marine Gunny) told me if I lied to him about it again, he'd personally make me smash it with a sledge hammer.

That old Phillips made the tape sound like a concert right there in the room. Left our ears ringing for hours. Those were good days, man. Dio rocked.

As a headbangin' teen of the 80's, Dio's music was a big part of my rebellious youth. RIP Holy Diver.

Oh my, first Ive heard of it. Man thats a major bummer. RIP Mr Dio.

Did the same back then. Got really into metal with Ozzy sining whatever and especially Dio singing the Last in Line; great tune

I saw him with Black Sabbath back in the early eighties great showman with a great voice. I always loved Sabbath but like RJD music better with Rainbow.

May he rock on forever. Great singer, his voice was the sound of metal.

Gotta get a CD now.
