Tom Hutton, aka Tommy passed away last night due to a heart attack. He was a knife collector of epic proportions. Phil Lobred introduced me to him as the "Junkyard King of Los Angeles". Tommy had no pretense, he was a hard working, hard partying kind of fellow. Not sure how old he was, 60's I'm pretty sure. He was a featured collector in David Darom's "The Great Collections" book.

Here is a photo of Tommy that I took at the last AKI with Virgil England:

He was a great man, a husband, a collector, a friend to those who knew what is what....he was a knife person's knife person, and we will never have his like amongst us again.

Best Regards,

Steven Garsson

Sorry to hear this Steve, I only met Tommy at the CKCA banquet in 2011.
Condolences to the family.

R.I.P., Tommy, I only met you once, at Solvang, but knew of you as an avid collector.

I never met him but any friend of the knife community gets my respect. My prayers and condolences to the family and friends of Tommy.

Great guy and he will be missed

I am glad I got to spend time with him at Blade

R.I.P.

Sad to see some one go that young.

Hopefully he took some time to give thought and pass on to his family what he wanted done with his collection.

It is something not a lot of people do, and it can take an extremely difficult task easier.

Godspeed Mr. Hutton.

best

Prayers sent for family and loved ones.
Sad News.
RIP

Steve, I just found out today about Tom. We saw him in Atlanta at the Blade Show. He is a great guy and collector. Our condolences to Vickie. I believe he would have turned 71 on July 14.

I'm sure you are right about his age, Evelyn....thanks for posting. Tommy is missed by everyone who knew him.
