Wow, truly sad news.
RIP, Mr. Osborne. Nothing tops your 940, imo.

Wow, I didn't know he passed. This is sad news. I always liked his designs, though I sadly never owned one.

Had no idea until just an hour ago. Sad to hear another great knifemaker has left us.

I first met Warren at the 1987 Knifemakers Guild Show in Dallas. He still spoke with a heavy Aussie accent.
He made beautiful knives and his work became integrally associated with best quality, high end custom work. He will be missed.

Reknowned knifemaker Warren Osborne has passed away. He had a long and fruitful career, and was profoundly instrumental in promoting handmade knives and the fun, safe, responsible use of them. Among many other accomplishments, he set standards and records in cutting competitions, and was a founding member of BladeSports International. His leadership helped it become a truly world-class organization that every "knife person" can be proud of.

By all accounts, he was a class act.

I never met Mr. Osborne, but I know that his work and teachings were prominent, prolific and very highly respected. His dedication to craftsmanship and his positive influence will continue to be appreciated by many, many knifemakers, collectors, and users of quality knives for a long time. Rest in Peace, Warren Osborne, and thank you for making the world a better place.

Please join me in observing a moment of gratitude and respect for an admirable human being. We stand on the shoulders of giants.

That is sad, and a huge loss to the knife community and the world. I have my Rift in my pocket right now, what a great design.

Very sad news. While I do not own any custom knives by him, quite a few of my favorite production knives were designed by him.

Rest in Peace.

Should this be a sticky? Maybe it won't need to be.
