Hi, I purchased a little boot knife made by a maker named R J Darby a while back and have been unsuccessful in obtaining any real info about him. I was wondering if any of the experts on here might be able to help me out with some info, possibly contact info if there is any.

Thanks for any help!!

Pics would help. The only Darby knifemaker I know of, is Jed Darby. He made stock removal, hollow ground knives out of 440C and ATS34 sometimes. Pretty well made, if rather simple designs. No longer making knives, as far as I know.

The only thing I find is in Knives 2006 and here is what it says:

Rick Darby 71 Nestingrock Lane Levittown, PA. 19054
Specialties: Working straight knives. Patterns: Boots, fighters and hunters with mirror finish. Technical: Grinds 440C and CPM440V. Prices: $125 to $300. Remarks: Part time maker, first knife sold in 1974. Mark: First and middle initials, last name.

There was a knife maker rick darby from boardman, ohio that made custom knives years ago.
