The only R. Murphy knife I have is a straight knife...one of the Herter's Canadian belt knives they made for the Herter's catalog back in the day.
(The one I have is a newer knife built from old stock some years back.)
Is this an older knife you are referring to or are knives being currently manufactured with the R. Murphy tang stamp?
They are current, are manufactured at their plant in MA, and are 1095 carbon steel. They are still making the Canadian belt knife, the other knives they made for Herter's back in the day, kitchen knives in either 1095 or stainless, and a variety of work-specific knives
