This was the first knife of his I have seen with Kydex sheath and Micarta scales. Up till now I have only seen him use stabilized exotic timbers, NZ puhua, Aust pearl, water buffallo, mammoth etc. I have posted pics of a few of my puchases from him previously. He does US made damascus as well.
Rob Podesta custom 1095 high carbon hunting knife
this solid hand made full tang hollow ground 8" 1095 high carbon hunting knife. Ground from 0.178" thick 1095 high carbon spring steel bar stock and stamped with R.P.C.K AUST. ( Rob Podesta Custom knives. Australia. ) My makers stamp. The blade has been oil quenched and double tempered to RC 56-58 and has a hollow grind. All this is done by me in my workshop in Ulladulla. It will rust just like damascus if you don't keep it cleaned and oiled. I store all my high carbon and damascus knives by wiping them with RENAISSANCE WAX or WD-40 and wrapping the blade in greaseproof paper. This knife can be stored in the kytex sheath. All my custom blades are guaranteed to be free from any cracks or faults.
Micarta scales secured with nickle siver pins . Nickle silver thong hole. The knife has been sanded down to 2000 grit and then polished on the lap wheel to 16000 grit for a gemstone quality finish. This is a great work knife and will hold a good edge and give many years of trouble free use.
Comes in hand made kytex sheath. Made by me in camo pattern.
