I'm new to knife making, I'm retired on limited funds, I tried files for a flat bevel and am giving up on that. Plan to buy Coote grinder. Can anyone advise whether to buy the 6", 8" or 10" grind wheel option for when I move to hollow grinding - still learning flat grinding. I plan to use just 1 1/2" flat stock most of the time. Is 6" sufficient?

A contact wheel is used for much more than hollow grinding. Get the larger 10" wheel.
